Sustainable waste management

It's more important than ever before that we should have an efficient waste management system at home.

Increasing awareness among everyone about sustainable waste management is important as it brings up issues like inefficient means of waste disposal in the society. We ourselves need to know more about what kinds of waste we generate at home and those are mainly the Organic Waste - waste from our kitchens, mostly the leftover food, peels of vegetables and fruits, etc. They are biodegradable and can be composted if treated appropriately. Also, the Toxic Waste - like old expired medicines, chemicals, shoe polish batteries, fertilizers and so on. They need to be collected separately as they can contaminate the environment and should be disposed of appropriately.

Other than this and also a very important one are the Recyclable Waste - like paper, glass, metals and plastics, and these products can be recycled if we collect them separately and send them to the recycling plant or people who work in the waste management system. It is the time to be aware of the waste we generate daily and make sure that it is disposed of safely and in an environmentally-friendly manner.

We need to Minimize the ways in which we can be responsible for managing our home waste

So Here is a video talking to my society Nitesh Hyde Park manager incharge of my housing society who keeps working on the management of waste for my building and what changes he thinks we need to bring for it.
