When we talk about food we know that it forms one of the most important aspects of our lives. It is something that no one can survive without. It can also become a topic that can be debated extensively. Everyone tries to prove how the food that they make is more authentic. There are people who understand the value of food and cook it for us. They have made a business of making food and selling it. That is how they earn their own livelihood. The ingredient that I chose was paneer which is one of the most available foods, especially in India.
I have mentioned in earlier blogs how jokes are made about people that are vegetarians and they have said how vegetarians only eat paneer, but that is absolutely incorrect. I prefer Paneer over all kinds of meat dishes, even though I love to eat meat. I got Paneer Puff from the uncle that has a shop in our college in front of Nandini. I went to the uncle and asked him if he has made all of these things himself and he told me that he makes all the items in his shop at his home in the morning and brings it to college and sells it there all day till 7 PM in the evening when all the other canteens close other than ICH.
The paneer puff is extremely delicious and I love eating it on a regular basis too. My friends also love the delicacy and it is very flaky and yummy. I got a few of them for my teammates and we all sat down in ICH and ate together. They had all brought their food items with their ingredients to that place and we started eating the food items bought by each other. We had thought about getting together at someone’s place and getting the assignment done but we couldn’t go through with it.
It was an amazing experience to eat together. I am friends with all of them and ate together multiple times but I have never experienced a task where we were so excited to taste foods with some special ingredients only. Each dish was so unique in itself and they all tasted amazing. We laughed a lot and talked about the cricket match that we had played a few days ago. It was a fun lunch. All the dishes smelled amazing, but all of us had only one complaint that this dish was not authentic in their own cultural sense because we couldnt find the taste and smell that could connect with home or to our Mothers.
