The first thing that we should discover is the history of paneer. It is called cottage cheese in English and it is a very popular ingredient in Southeastern countries. This cheese can not melt and is very soft and chewy. It is said that paneer originally came from Persia and got more recognition during the British period. However, some people like to believe that it originated in Punjab or Bengal.
Now it has become an integral part of Indian cuisine and there are no restraints who do not offer a vegetarian dish that is not paneer. It is one of the most important ingredients for any restaurant kitchen that serves Indian food. I think that I have noticed

that Paneer is a very common and tasty dish made in northern parts of India, but in the Southern parts, I have not tasted a very good paneer dish.
My mother has been cooking paneer since I can recall. She knows that it is my favorite dish so she cooks it almost every alternate day. She loves to cook and I got that habit from her. Even I love to cook paneer. I might not be good at making any other dish, but my friends say that I cook the best paneer. I lived in Delhi for a very long time and then I shifted to Lucknow. I don't mind eating meat but whenever someone asks me what I want to eat, I always name a paneer dish. Paneer is very famous in Punjab and Delhi and living there for so many years made me realize my love for it. Even when I shifted to Lucknow, which is known for its kebabs, I would prefer to have paneer over the delicious meat. It's not like I did not want the meat, it's only about how I think that paneer tastes better.
I have lived in two cities for most of my life. The first one is Delhi and the second one is Lucknow. When we talk about paneer, it is made out of milk. The milk is out with some sour content and then there is a separation that takes place between the milk content and the water present in the milk. Then the milk content is taken and put in a cloth and pressed a little. It is kept away for a day and that is how paneer is made. This whole process takes place in my house. My mother would do this with the extra milk that she would save. She is very good at doing this process and she has gotten used to it. My mother also likes to put paneer in any random dish. She adds a little bit of grated paneer in most of the dry dishes that are cooked in my family. She also makes very authentic paneer dishes like chili paneer, shahi paneer, butter paneer, palak paneer, paneer tikka, paneer paratha, paneer sandwich, paneer pizza, etc. Paneer is something that can be found anywhere, it is found in all kinds of shops and dairy shops specifically. My entire family loves eating paneer and we have grown so used to eating it, even then, we all enjoy it a lot. It has been consumed for a very long time and I hope this heritage keeps going on. I prefer Paneer over all kinds of meat, even though I eat everything. Paneer is very beneficial, it not only provides healthy protein but also good fat, iron, calcium, and magnesium. It is important for vegetarian people because somewhere or the other it fulfills the need for meat in the body.
